About the Role:
- Contract Length: 6 months (Full-time, W2)
- Location: San Mateo, CA (On-site at least 3 days per week)
- Hourly Rate: $60-65/hour
Join our client's dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping their internal content arm! As a Data Analyst focused on public data pipelines, you will curate public data from various sources (finance, economics, government, weather, and more) into scalable, high-quality products that empower our customers' analytics capabilities. Businesses across industries rely on this data, making your contribution essential.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor public data pipelines daily, swiftly identifying and resolving errors (formatting, source issues, duplicate data, etc.) to ensure data reliability for our Client's business operations.
- Thoroughly investigate errors by analyzing logs, GitHub repositories, provider websites, and SQL queries to pinpoint the root cause of issues.
- Engage with public data providers to address issues on their end, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing disruption.
- Proactively identify and implement enhancements to data pipelines, improving data integrity and reducing errors.
- Maintain strict SLAs (e.g., 4-hour response time) and strive for a 0% error rate daily.
- Actively participate in daily scrum meetings with the Data Engineering team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Quality Operations.
Required Skills:
- Advanced SQL proficiency (joins, subqueries, constraints, and daily use).
- Proven experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting data pipelines using Python and SQL, and leveraging tools like GitHub, dbt, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers to resolve data issues. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A proven track record of consistently meeting SLAs and quality targets.
- Familiarity with Cloud and SaaS environments.
- Experience in or knowledge of the financial services industry or related domains is a plus.
