About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Data Scientist to beta-test a new online course. This is an excellent opportunity to gain early access to cutting-edge content and directly influence the quality of our clients’ Data Science curriculum. We're seeking motivated professionals who can provide detailed, constructive feedback.
About the Role
This is a fully remote, freelance role with an anticipated start date in mid-September 2025. The Beta Testers will work on a flexible schedule but must be able to work within a U.S. time zone. The total commitment is 25 hours, with 20 hours dedicated to course completion and 5 hours for feedback.
Hourly rate: Negotiable
Responsibilities
- Course Engagement: Actively complete all course materials, including video lectures, hands-on exercises, and quizzes. You'll dedicate about 20 hours to this.
- Detailed Feedback: Provide in-depth feedback on the course content, clarity, and effectiveness. This will involve about 5 hours of work, including:
- Content and Clarity: Evaluating the logical flow, explanations, and examples.
- Technical Accuracy: Scrutinizing code, mathematical formulas, and data analysis concepts for any errors.
- Assessment Quality: Taking all quizzes and final assessments and providing feedback on their relevance and difficulty.
- Reporting: Proactively identify and document any technical issues, typos, or inconsistencies in a clear and concise manner.
- User Experience: Assess the usability of the course platform, including its navigation and layout.
- Final Evaluation: Participate in structured surveys and a potential final interview to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the course.
Qualifications
- Experience: You must have 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a data analytics or data science role.
- Technical Skills:
- Mathematics: A strong understanding of the mathematical foundations of data science, including linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory.
- Statistics: A solid grasp of fundamental statistical concepts.
- Programming: Proficiency in at least one core data science language, such as Python or R.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for providing clear, actionable feedback.
- Work Ethic: You must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines. Experience with self-paced, online learning environments is a plus.
